Looking to go back to school for Physical Therapy in NYC.

Hello, I'm 33 and thinking about going back to school for Physical Therapy. I currently work in a completely unrelated field and have no idea what I'm getting into.

To get started, I know I need some additional undergrad credits like Anatomy, etc. (I graduated with a BA in Advertising....wha waaaa).

My questions are, how do I determine which classes I need and any recommendations on schools around Brooklyn/Manhattan/Queens? Hoping for evening/weekend classes while I get my credits squared up.

My daughter in law who had worked in publishing went to school for physical therapy at NYU, was very satisfied with the program and has now worked as a physical therapist for several years.

I have a couple friends who took pre-reqs to become PTs, and were unable to get into the programs they wanted to (close, not prestigious). Do you have an alternate plan for the training you'll get if you don't become a PT?

Look at the admissions webpages of PT schools you're interested in for an idea of the training you'll need. Then see what universities convenient to you have on offer and call (probably the biology department) for advice. They've likely dealt with aspiring PTs before and can tell you your options. You'll need at least intro bio, anatomy, and physics, not sure what else.
