European Electronica/Dance trip

I'm going to Belgium (Gent area) in a while and I'm interested in really exploring european music (electronica/dance espescially). I'll be there for the last 5 days of De Gentse Feesten. I'd like reccomendations for live acts to see (electronica or not) and places to pick up vinyl that would be unavailable/expensive stateside (dance music in particular) in Gent.

Best answer: Ah, Gent! I studied there. For electronic music you're probably best off keeping to 10 days off, the electronic music festival that is part of the Gentse Feesten (http://www.10daysoff.be/2005/flashcontent/uk/indexf.html).

As for recommendations for live acts, can't go wrong with Telepopmusik, Photek, Jaga Jazzist, although I'd have a look around on the site and see what else is interesting to you.

For shops, try VYNILLA (address: Sint-Kwintensberg 38). It's the only vinyl shop that seems to have a decent collection of dance music.

Of the ones listed in Skyanth's link, these look very good:

Alex Smoke (UK)
Cristian Vogel (UK)
Jamie Lidell (UK)
Justus Kohnke (GER)
Optimo (UK)

I listed about 5 times that many, and then thought better of it. Looks like a fun time. Also, those are only the European ones; if you can help it, don't miss Ricardo Villalobos.

You can check out Discogs for artist information, and links to websites/record labels, possibly with samples. Boomkat will also have small samples of some release by most of these artists (although they're not in Belgium).

Jamie Lidell live is a sight to see.

Also, discogs.com's servers crapped the bed recently, so they're abnormally slow for awhile.
