Internet changing what I type.

Why does my browser change the last two letters of some of the strings I type to "Pr"?
This has happened a few times recently. I'll type a word or phrase into a field and click "Submit" or the equivalent, and when the brower responds it will act as if I typed in an otherwise identical entry with the last two letters changed to "Pr" (capital P, small r). Does anybody here know why this might be happening? Has this happened to anyone else here? Google searching is proving unusually useless.
An example: I tried to create a username on a website, and when entering "myusername" I got back "myusernaPr" as the (now officially registered) username.
This also happened today using two different online text-to-binary converters. It doesn't seem to be specific to any one website.
I'm using Firefox 9.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.5.

at this point there are too many factors that could cause this... so i'ld experiment with safari, or download chrome and try it... if it happens there, then it isn't just the browser... if only firefox, then i'd check add-on's... externsions, etc... also, i'd check the auto-fill settings, there might be something in there.
