Cross Stitch Patterns

I'm looking for a quality computer program (or a service) to create a cross stitch pattern from a Picasso painting. I have purchased patterns from xs-collectibles.com, so I'm looking for something similar to the level of difficulty / detail.

Probably not much help but may be worth mentioning: If you want it to specify the different types of stitches for each square, then you'll need a cross-stitch program, but if you're just looking for the best way to use a limited number of coloured threads to depict the painting, then pretty much any half-way decent (and often free) image manipulation program will allow you to set the size of the grid (pixel dimensions), and the maximum number of coloured threads you will use, and then render the image to those requirements.

I was thinking.. Photoshop -> Mosaic Effect -> Posterize.. or some combination of such? Or am I missing the point?
