Google's motto, "Don't provide actual links"

Google's new links are timing out on me. I block cookies from Google as as part of my feeble attempt to maintain some internet privacy and, just today, the links on Google's search results are timing out.

For instance, if I do a search for "Metafilter" the link that Google provides me is :

"http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=metafilter&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CDwQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.metafilter.com%2F&ei=x-oyT8yeFYKjiQLvzeGICg&usg=AFQjCNF_oQoq6dPtH6oi8xyU6NUAF8XfUg&cad=rja"

Even though it displays as just "metafilter". Clicking on that link will just hang forever in my browser. (Using the new firefox).

This is happening on my home computer and my work computer. Anyone know what's up? I see that I can just copy shorter links, but long links are truncated in ways that make cutting and pasting impossible.

Best answer: If you're using Firefox you could try this extension.
