SCAM WOW!

Where can I get a ShamWow by this weekend?

This is for a project I have to do for a speech class, which is basically a parody commercial. Topic of choice, the ShamWow. I need to know where I can get a ShamWow so my friends and I can start recording this weekend. I haven't the time to go searching for it in stores since I have loads of reading to do in PSYCH and ENG. Online is not an option due to time constraints. Price should be less than 20 dollars. Alternatively, we are looking for something that resembles a ShamWow.

I live in the SE Houston Area (near San Jacinto College).

Bed, Bath and Beyond have them in the "As Seen on TV" section, As Seen on TV outlets will have them. You might even find them in your local grocer as they've become pretty popular/useful.

Response by poster: ?
So they're sold in regular stores?

Strange, since I remember that Shamwows stated that they weren't.

Best answer: CVS, Walgreens, and (maybe?) Rite-Aid all have "As Seen on TV" sections/aisles as well. I've seem 'em there.

Best answer: Target has them, and the "find in store" button tells me that they're in stock all around Houston.

My guess is that they weren't sold in stores at first because they didn't have distribution deals. Once everyone wanted a ShamWow, the retailers came knocking.

Yep, bought one myself at an "As Seen on TV" store at the mall.

All that "TV Only" stuff ends up being sold in stores, and a lot of stores have "As Seen on TV" sections. Definitely check BBB and Walgreens.

I have also seen them in Target, generally on aisle endcaps in the general cleaning area, sometimes near car washing/waxing materials.

Best answer: Houston here, and I've seen them in nearly every Target I've been to around town. They're usually in the section around the light bulbs/fans/small electrical appliances.

Shamwow doesn't sell them in stores, but they sell them to As Seen On TV, who does.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone! Never knew that they sold them at Walgreens (or maybe I just came in and out for the things I needed). Just saved me a load of time. Running out to Walgreens later tonight. Target is my backup.

Dollar stores also carry sham-wow knock-offs for a lot less than you will pay for the actual thing.

I found a pack of two "Wippity Wipes" at 7-11 for $1.99, I think. I would never buy the TV package, too much $ and too many wipes, but a pack of 2 is great for me. I'm not sure it's a knock off, I think these were out first.

Local 99 Cent Store sells knock offs for 99 cents.

Oddly, Staples sells them, too. Or, at least around the Seattle area they do. Also in the As Seen on TV section.
