Freelance Audio book narration: has anybody here had success doing it? Looking for tips, experiences, and best practices.

Looking at getting into freelance audiobook narration via Audible's ACX. I've read most of their site, and am reasonably comfortable with the process they outline and am pretty confident I can do the work with screwing it up too badly. But I'd love to hear from somebody else who has done freelance narration work about your experiences.

Have you heard of Librivox? They use volunteers to record public domain books. I have listened to a few books, and like most volunteer stuff, some of it is really good and some not so good. But it might be a good way to get your name out there and build up a reel to submit for freelance work.
