How do I identify the model of my car?

I need some parts for my car, a 1984 Nissan Skyline hatchback, and the wrecker is asking if it's a S1 or S2. How do I tell?

I don't have a photo of the car, and it's at the mechanic's at the moment.

VIN Lookup? I don't know how well it will work for a 1984, but hey.

Get the VIN number off the chassis plate and call a Nissan Dealer and ask them for the full specification of your car.
