Help not not need a new car

Very specific filter. I am in need of an infant seat for a 2002 chevy cavalier but of course there is more inside

the problem is I'm 6'2" in a car not designed for that height and only just fit with the driver seat all the way back. My awesome 2 year old sits behind the passenger seat, which needs to be forward so she can move her feet. Has anyone here bought a car seat in the last year or two (seat specs change so often longer time seats are no longer available or deemed safe) that they used in a 2002 cavalier behind the driver, with seat all the way back. Caveat that I cannot use the middle so please only seats that would fit in this spot.

Best answer: You should post your question on the message boards at car-seat.org. The folks there are incredibly knowledgable and should be able to help you figure out a solution.

Do you have a Buy Buy Baby nearby? I recently bought a new car seat and they were awesome about letting us take their display models out to the car to see which ones would fit. I went when they first opened up on a Sunday, so it wouldn't be a crazy madhouse and we could find an employee to help. They also price-matched Amazon when I showed them on my phone that the one we wanted was cheaper than their price.

Best answer: Not sure if this qualifies as an answer, but I was in the exact situation 10 months ago. I had a 2003 Saturn ION. I am 6'3". I had a two year old and an infant at the same time.

I had to sell my ION and now I drive an AURA and my wife gave in and bought a minivan.

With the angle of a rear-facing car seat, you being 6'2", and in a Cavalier, I don't think there is going to be a solution. Sorry. All of my friends with kids who hate SUVs and minivans have all gone through this recently. The only friend of mine to keep her small car is 5'2".

All I can do is second the idea of asking at car-seat.org.

Response by poster: Thanks for the advice so far. I am going to our local baby store and try seats but it is currently about 38 degrees outside so I ned to narrow my choices and not freeze. I like the idea of a new car but was hoping to get another great or 2 out of this one.

So if you fit in the driver's seat, and the baby behind the passenger seat...what's the problem? I don't understand the question.

I only ask to determine if the problem is that the seat won't fit behind the passenger seat without interfering also with the driver's seat (i.e, too wide). If that is the case, I'll mention that Sunshine seems to make the narrowest seats; the Sunshine Radian is well recommended (I like it, too). Heavy bugger though. Seems to have a steel frame where others use plastic (and is probably how it saves space, I imagine).

Response by poster: The problem is that baby number 2 is on the way and has to go in an infant seat behind me. Thursday is supposed to be nice enough does anyone know if babys rus will let me try different seats without purchase and returns?
