Where can I get delicious eggnog in NYC? I would prefer the name of a bar, say, rather than a store-bought brand. Thanks!

Is there a reason you're not making it at home? It's dead easy and delicious, especially this recipe.

Response by poster: gauche, I would like to go out as a festive thing. I am not opposed to making it myself in addition though!

Best answer: Try Waterfront Ale House or Ward III.

Maialino has had eggnog in the past but I don't think they are brigig it back this year.

Donatella has a coconut eggnog on the menu right now as well.

Vynl (9th Avenue & 51st) is a place that has few virtues, but one of the few is an incredibly wonderful frozen eggnog drink that they make only during this time of year. Think daiquiri made with eggnog. It is also deceptively strong, as I discovered two Decembers ago after drinking two of them in the span of about an hour.

You can get fantastic eggnog made by Ronnybrook Dairy it is simply divine. They have a store in Chelsea Market.

Response by poster: I went to Ward III tonight since I'd been meaning to try it out for a while (Michael Neff's columns on Serious Eats inspired me). The eggnog was quite tasty and very alcoholic.

I also remembered that one of my favorite restaurants, Bogota, has a special eggnog, coquito, this time of year, and it is also first-rate (much more dessert-like than Ward III's).

I shall strive to give the others a try before the season is out!

Eleven Madison Park has a very good and very boozy eggnog, with Royal Combier, rum, cognac, and scotch. This is in addition to some of the other seasonal drinks on their menu -- hot chocolate, hot buttered rum, spiced cider, and more. (They aren't listed on the online menu).

Response by poster: Everything about Eleven Madison Park always sounds delicious. I will bear it in mind for future eggnogging.
