What's the best way to register an international domain name (i.e. .jp or .cn?)

What is the best service a US-based person can use to register an international domain (like .cn, .kr, and .jp?)
I tried to register these the same way I've registered all my .com domains, but the service I typically use is requiring that I use a physical address in the respective countries. Are there any reliable, reputable domain registration services that do not require this or that help you with it?

Also keep in mind that the cost for registering those domains vary by country. I live in Japan, but never register .jp domains because it costs something ridiculous like $100USD per year.

I have a .jp domain. It costs 4,500JPY a year or so through tsukaeru.net . Only problem with a .jp is that you have to have a Japanese mailing address to get one.

domai.nr is a great tool for finding out what's available and finding a place to register it. Mathowie just tweeted about it, which is how I found it.

I ran into this problem when a client needed a .jp address. I wound up using an outfit called JP Domains. For several years the client has groused at how they could register it more cheaply themselves and so I always offer to transfer it... But they still haven't gotten around to it. In the meantime, it has worked fine for me...
