Curious about this question. What information does pay pal give about a buyer to the seller?

Well typically you'll at least get their name and address, and probably their email address as well. Possibly phone number as well, depending on whether they've got it listed.

I don't think I've ever noticed getting any more information than what I would need to ship an item.

I receive name, address, email, item information, and of they have written me a note, I get that as well. I also get if they have a verified address or not. I think that may clue you in to if they have paypal account, but I am not sure.

I never receive any credit card info.

It's pretty much the minimum contact information needed to ship out or fulfill an order. What information that's sent depends on how the sender classifies the payment; when my inlaws sent us some money as a 'gift', just their business name, contact email, and phone number were sent -- no address.

Name, shipping address, any note the buyer entered, items purchased, prices, confirmed or unconfirmed address. (I get about 40 paypal payments a week)
