Great Car Bluetooth Adapters

Help my dad get the best bluetooth car adapter!

All my dad wants for Christmas is a bluetooth car adapter. He likely won't want to replace the whole stereo on the car, so we are looking for something external and aftermarket here.

Ideally, this setup will have the following features:

1) voice dialing by number (i.e. he calls a bunch of different numbers, so he might have to say the number out-- call 123-4567 -- instead of being able to program in contacts).

2) best if you have a choice to use either an earpiece *or* the car stereo. Sometimes he doesn't want a passenger in the car to have/get to hear the other side of a conversation.

3) meshes well with an iPhone 4.

4) excellent sound quality for phone calls; music sound quality is nice but not as required

5) something we could install ourselves. Dad's electronically competent and I'm happy to help so this isn't a super tall order, but I don't want to get something that absolutely has to be done by a professional.

Assume money isn't an object, I have a budget myself but if it's a truly great product might be able to convince other family members to help out.
(Yes, I've seen past questions, including this one, but it's been a few years and I'd like more recent information.)

Hi there. I'm not sure if a real "consumer" type product would work for you, but I tested the Livio Kit, which just plugs into your car's cigarette lighter. It has a radio transmitter, as well as audio in / out, bluetooth, and a USB port for charging your phone. If you memail me your email address, I can send you a recording I made in the car while driving. There's also some knockoffs on Amazon for a bit less, and I can dig them up too, if you're interested. The Kit is quite a bit nicer though, although I suspect the audio performance is the same.

If I were going to get a setup that gets installed in the car, I would get one of the Parrot systems. They have a great reputation.
