Not Martha, but in Boston.

Help me find blogs about Boston.
I moved to the Boston area three years ago, and I do not love it. I read the blogs of several people who live in other cities, and are always talking about cool places/restaurants/exhibits/events. The best example I can think of is not martha, who writes about Seattle and the Pacific Northwest. I have yet to find a blog that will help me appreciate the awesomeness that is Boston. I am especially interested in anything focusing on the northern suburbs. Can you suggest a blog you read that makes you wish you lived here? Something that inspires you to want to get out of the house and try new things/places?
Thanks!

Universal Hub is not the kind of blog you're looking for, but it's very useful and if you follow it for a little while you'll most likely see links to other blogs you'll enjoy.
Also, when you say "Northern suburbs" what do you mean exactly? Revere? Medford? Salem? Lynnfield?

This isn't a blog, but every week, this guy posts a list of "weird" events happening in the greater Boston area. It's somewhat hit and miss, depending on your tolerance for kind of kitchy events, but it's the first place I look if I want to see if there's something new or different happening.

I just found this one: Boston's Free Movie Screenings. There's also the Sunday Night Film Club.

Best answer: Since you are asking about "cool places" I'm guessing you don't have kids, but I like Boston Mamas. She posts about some local events and places that are fun for everybody, not just families with young kids, and she does a weekday and weekend roundup every week.

Here some sites that I check regularly & some Chowhound posts with some good tips on ethnic fests & happy hour food deals:
Cheap Thrills
Boston Event Insider
Boston Chefs
Listings for punk shows
Older Chowhound post on ethnic fests
Older Chowhound post on happy hour food deals since there are no drink deals in this state

Response by poster: Boston Mamas is the closest to what I've been looking for (although you are correct, I don't have kids).
I'll keep an eye on Unviersal Hub, though.

Salem, Medford, Malden, Arlington, Revere, Melrose, Wakefield. The area called the North Shore, I think?
