Movies online outside of English-speaking productions

I'm looking for safe, legal ways to watch foreign movies online, particularly movies not in English, either for free or as rentals.

Tonight I was thinking this particularly in regards to an old Soviet movie that doesn't seem to have been subtitled or dubbed into English. Earlier, I had wondered how to do it in reference to Nigerian or Ghanaian movies. (I did find a site that offered 99c viewings of Nollywood movies, but I did not exactly rush to give it my credit card.) I don't exactly know how to find reputable sources. Can you name some sites that can be trusted?

Personally I am not a fluent speaker of any other language, but I know enough German and French to have used the equivalent Amazon sites to buy things without incident. (I have an almost masochistic patience for watching movies that aren't in a language I understand, so that is not an issue.)

You can stream movies live through Amazon, and they have foriegn movies. I've seen some interesting foriegn films using Amazon Prime.

I'm not sure about Netflix...

Netflix does have foreign films - my mom has rented several through them.

www.justin.tv puts just about anything up (from people's home videos of videogaming to prime time foreign language TV & movies). I've found things in german, dutch, spanish, portuguese, french...it's mostly a matter of separating the wheat from the chaff & finding a few channels you like. It's free with signup. Don't click on the adds.

Netflix has a ton of foreign, subtitled movies--I use the instant streaming. To search their website most effectively, go to www.instantwatcher.com.

Yeah, Netflix is great for foreign films. There are a lot on streaming there that five years ago you had to beg Russian people to mail you ancient bootleg VHS copies of if you wanted to see them - or in my town, become a member of the university's Slavic Center, which collected copies of stuff whenever anyone went to the former USSR (I tend to think it was mostly not bootlegged) and would "rent" it all out to anyone who wanted to see them.

Bonus: I don't think any of them have their English subtitles. None of the movies I've seen so far had them available, anyway.
