Question: Looking for a set of engravings known as "The City"

Looking for a set of engravings known as "The City"

About ten years ago, I purchased a book, in a small paperback edition, titled "The City" which contained almost no text and was a set of engravings of a late 19th-early 20th century city. The artist covered every possible happening in the city: from high society gatherings to prostitutes on the street to families in both mansions and tenements, factories and their workers, busy theatres, murderers, thieves, politicians, police, beggars and ended with one girl looking out of her tenement window at the stars.

I've lost the book and I can't remember the artist's name and the title, at least in English, is much too generic for Google and Amazon/Powells is coming up blank. Anyone else have this collection or know the name of the artist?
