Connect action figure with movie

Trying to remember a movie/tv show connected with an action figure I had as a child

The action figure was a half human/half robot pterodactyl figure. He was about the size of a GI Joe and I remember some sort of live action or cartoon linked with him.

If it is Soaron, and it sounds like it, you can see him early on the opening credits. There's also some full episodes online, but the series is about to come out on DVD.
