Are there any resume-writing sites you could recommend for software developers?

Hi all,

I've been looking for a new job as a software developer for a while now (I want to relocate to the west coast from PA), and I can't help but feel that my resume is holding me back. As my title states, are there any reputable sites that you could recommend where I could send my resume and have them update it for me? Or better yet, create a few different versions for specific types of positions?

Thanks!

I'm a software developer, and been through the old employment mill a few times. Would you like me to take a look at your resume? MeMail me a link to the PDF or DOC, maybe throw it onto Dropbox.

Response by poster: @asymptotic: Sure! I'll send you a Dropbox link in a sec. Much appreciated.

Why do you feel this? Are you not getting contacted at all? Are you getting phone screens?

Where are you applying (Bay Area? LA?) and what types of jobs are you applying for (startups? banks?). These things make a difference and you should tailor your application, depending.

Having an active github profile or open source projects that you've worked on will generally get you to the top of the pile.

Feel free to MeMail me if you want to discuss specifics.
