What is this hat called?

Millinery filter: What are the 60s-70s mod hats that look sort of like a cross between a riding helmet and a baseball cap called?

I'm thinking of something like the one pictured here, under "Uniform 1972-1977"

It looks a little like a Bobby hat.

yeah, Pierre Cardin did it but I don't know if it had an actual name.

Thank you! It does indeed seem to be a bobby hat bowler.

I'm pretty sure that's just a modified jockey cap, actually.

2nding modified jockey hat. That sort of thing was (is?) also used for fast food restaurants.

I think the more standard name is "equestrian cap". I find this refers to the shaped type whereas jockey cap tends more toward the soft, mushy type.

The bobby hat type was different, one of many professional hat types that inspired mod styling.

Bobby helmet bowler?

That's not actually a type of hat, those are three different key words for the Etsy listing. A "bowler" it is definitely not.

Equestrian cap is more correct.

... and this Simplicity pattern calls it a "jockey hat". Notice that "helmet" styles have a chin strap.

Another term for the classic riding helmet shape is "hunt cap".
