Images linked for ease of viewing: HUF and Undefeated

Text description: bold san-serif fonts with angled lines of missing font. And I'm sure I've seen something like this, but I'm drawing a blank. You could search DaFont under Fancy or maybe Techno: Sci-Fi, but I can tell you there's nothing like it in the Fancy: Distorted category (I looked through all 33 pages).

Both of those logos were created the old-fashioned way...By mechanically altering the type.
The HUF type was done by using rules of different thicknesses, and dropping them out from the individual letters. It looks to me like the base letters started out as probably Helvetica Bold.

The Undefeated logo was created by dropping-out the "scratch" graphic from the type. Then, the result was very possibly thrown on a stat camera and over-exposed in order to get the burned-off corners, giving every corner the rounded edges. You can get a similar effect playing around in Photoshop, but the stat camera over exposure is how we did it back in the day. The base font looks a lot like Future Extra Bold Condensed Oblique.

stat camera? what era are you working in? these are typefaces customized in adobe illustrator.

Not free, but I found these patterned Franklin Gothic variants [via]

It's a very 1970s look overall -- there were a few logos like that back in the day.

Slipstream is very similar with no manual manipulation. (I have it because I had a client who's logo was in this typeface in... 1996.) ffonts has a couple of poorly tagged but similar suggestions if you scroll down.

Not necessarily. They may actually be very old. In fact, I know quite a few designers who pull-out ancient tech in order to achieve an old-school effect. Use the tools.
