Springerle cookies in Buffalo?

Moved here from Michigan and so far the only place I've ever found them is in Frankenmuth. They are just so hard to make and a birthday is coming up.

Best answer: I would give Wolter's Bakery a call.

The Broadway Market might have them - there are three bakers listed under vendors, maybe give them or Johnny's Meats & Italian Specialties a call?

A quick search of the Buffalo News shows them mentioned as being for sale at an annual event in Allegheny County last year (if that's not too far of a drive).

Best answer: I was curious, and it's kind of my job to know, so I called Wolter's, which is in Amherst, or more specifically Williamsville (5225 Sheridan Drive, NY 14221-3573, 716-632-3212).

They don't have any right now, but start making springerle near Thanksgiving.

I don't know of anyone else in the springerle business around Buffalo. Good luck.
