Exporting PDFs to JPG with Page Numbers

Is there any way to preserve the internal page numbering when exporting JPG sequences from PDF files?

Whenever I attempt this, the files are numbered from 0, regardless of what the actual page numbers are. It's pretty easy to fix this with a bit of scripting after export, but if somebody could save me a bit of time, I'd be much obliged!

It might help if you told us which package of software that you're using - it could be a software-specific problem or it could be a end-user-preferemces-setting problem.
