Istanbul to Toronto with Stopover in Spain?

Stopover flight experts: I am in Istanbul with a Eurail pass and I want to fly home to Toronto with a stopover of a couple weeks or so to see Spain and Morocco. Can I get a flight within the next week or so for a reasonable price or should I just start trudging my way back across Europe by rail?

Where should I look? I'm bad enough at finding the cheap flights under normal circumstances let alone a stopover flight with enough time to see a few cities.

Do it on separate tickets.

On Kayak, a one-way flight from Malaga to Toronto, changing in Brussels, is an astounding $343 on 10/12, which was a random day I searched for. Madrid to Toronto: $332.

A flight from Istanbul to Madrid is $343 also, on 9/30, also found on Kayak, flying on Spanair. A flight on the same day on Spanair from Istanbul to Malaga is ALSO $343.

I don't know what's up with $343, but honestly if you can get from Spain to Toronto for $343, it's probably worth it to buy a separate ticket from Turkey to Spain.

These are just quick searches on Kayak.com. Also look at fly.com.

You can get a ferry to Morocco from Malaga or anywhere along the coast.

Does Istanbul -> stopover -> Toronto need to be on the same ticket? If not just get the cheapest flight you can find to Spain and book your flight to Toronto from wherever you end up. Spanair have loads of flights from Istanbul. As of now, you can get to Barcelona on Sunday for 135 euros, including all taxes.

Yeah, I guess $343 isn't completely astounding for a one way ticket, but that does include all the taxes and stuff. Also look at other cities in Spain, like IanMorr says!

Another possibility: Pegasus from Istanbul (Sabiha Gökçen) to Marseille, and Eurail down from there. Flights for next Sunday coming in at just under YTL200 (about $110, US or CA). I've flown with Pegasus before--cheap but fine.

From Spain to Toronto, follow thirteenkiller's suggestions.

Response by poster: Awesome, thanks for the moral support. I am getting a flight to Casablanca for 200USD and I will make my way up to Spain and fly home from Portugal. Thanks again for the tips!
