Need help with a jailbroken iPhone bluetooth problem

I just purchased a Belkin Aircast bluetooth car adapter to use with a 1st generation Iphone. It's not working the way it's supposed to and I suspect it's because my iPhone is jailbroken. How do I fix this?
The bluetooth adapter connects fine with my iPhone. However, when connected, music played on my iPhone should be playing through my car speakers but the music is still playing through my iPhone speakers only. I called Belkin and they said if the phone is jailbroken, the issue is with the iPhone and not their product so could not offer any assistance.
Does a jailbroken phone change the way that Bluetooth would normally work on an iPhone and if so, is there a way to fix this without un-jailbreaking the phone? My iPhone is running version 3.1.2 (7D11).

Response by poster: Thanks. I'll look into that but Belkin's website says that all iPhones are supported.

As someone who used a first generation iPhone until recently, I can tell you that "all iPhones are supported" often seems to mean "all current models of iPhone are supported." Once Apple no longer sells it, it is not considered to be an iPhone, apparently.

Response by poster: You may be right. I'll keep digging a bit. As an aside, I just called Belkin tech support again and the person confirmed that it supports all iPhones including 1st gen. When I asked how he was able to be sure, he said it says so on the Belkin website. When I questioned the A2DP compatibility he said it must work if it says so on the website. Not very technically supportive!

Iphone limitation, no A2DP on first gen. Back in the day it was a source of frustration for me.
Because you're jailbroken, there are options to enable it. I'll find a link when I get to my computer.
