Is this a famous painting?

I bought this painting and it seemed so familiar to me but I can't put my finger on it.

Signature at the bottom right looks like ROS.

Isn't that red building the Moulin Rouge? Probably why it seems so familiar.

Famous landmark in Paris (the Moulin Rouge), but not a famous painting.

Yeah, that's definitely the Moulin Rouge; the building to its left appears in quite a few other paintings too. Your painting doesn't come up in a broad search, though (it's an oft-painted scene) so I'd say it's probably not famous.

It looks like one of the generic arty pseudo-Impressionistic-style prints of Paris that you can buy from street vendors all over the city.

What essexjan said.

This is a cheap, modern painting geared at the tourist market. These are sold all over Paris especially in the Place du Tertre in Montmartre, not far from the Moulin Rouge which is depicted here. These paintings are worthless.

It's not worthless if you like it.

But it's not famous either
