Point me to these puzzles, please!

Does anyone know of puzzle magazines or books that are exclusively Pencil Pointers? It's that game in Games magazine that has the clues written into the puzzle itself. Like this:

This is probably my favorite puzzle in Games magazine and the World of Puzzles, but since I don't care for most of the others it doesn't make sense for me to buy them just for a couple pages' worth of ones I like!

Response by poster: They're also known as Arrow Words or Pointer Crosswords.

Best answer: You can subscribe to a UK magazine of them here: http://www.puzzlemagazines.co.uk/arrowwords and if you are in the US it will cost you 34.44 pounds, or almost $56 for 12 issues. That is a similar price per issue as Games/WOG but you will get more puzzles in each one.

There is an Arrowwords book on Amazon for $7.

Best answer: As well as the Teatime Arrowwords book that soelo spotted, there's Sit and Solve: Pointer Crosswords - which is out of print, by the looks of it, but available used from Amazon. I realise "used" could be disappointing in a puzzle book, but for 1c, there's no great harm in finding out.

Also, I know it's not what you asked for, but on the offchance that you have an iPhone or iPad, there is of course an app for that. Several, in fact, for the iPad. Search for "Arrow Words" on the App Store. Here's one example, by Dilemma Apps; the company says it's been producing word puzzles for magazines for twenty years, so I'd expect the app's puzzles to be of (probably British, if it matters) magazine standard.

I expect there's one or more for Android too.

Response by poster: Thanks, soelo and ManyLeggedCreature. I'd actually seen the Arrowwords and Sit and Solve books and was thinking of trying those. I wasn't sure about the UK magazine because afraid that there will be a lot of references to British culture that I won't get. But will take a look! Thanks again for your suggestions.

It's probably not much help, but I remember them being common in Sweden. Perhaps it's a European thing.

To follow up on alexei's comment, in Hungarian, these are called "swedish crosswords." I didn't know there was an english language equivalent, though why wouldn't there be.
