Collapsing artists in iTunes. Please.

Is there any way that I can "roll up" artists' catalogs in iTunes?
I have a massive iTunes library, on the order of 50,000 songs. Is there any way that I can collapse entire discographies by artists?
For instance, I have 20 something Jethro Tull albums (don't ask. Teenage thing.) I would love to not have to scroll through all that stuff and instead just see "Jethro Tull" on one line with an arrow that I can click to expand out all their material. Is there any way for this to happen? A script, perhaps?
I know I can use the column browser, but I'm specifically looking for something that will let me pick through the song list (perhaps while compiling playlists, where I'm scrolling through and picking out what catches my eye, etc...) without having to go through four screens of a band to whom I won't listen anytime soon but who I can't stand to toss.

It's not as simple as it could be, but you could create a Smart Playlist that excludes whatever artist(s) you're not interested in at the moment and edit it as needed.

I may be confused, but you should be able to search your library by typing in "jethro tull", or even just "jeth", and get the results you're describing.

Do you by any chance have the "Sackful Of Trousersnakes" bootleg, from Atlanta 1976?
