MaryJaneFilter: I'm looking for audio clips (mp3, wav, whatever) relating specifically to the drug prohibition / war on drugs debate in the US.

Seeking both well-reasoned dialog as well as red-faced rants from BOTH sides of the debate (both for and against legalization), but I'm mostly interested in stuff related to marijuana. It's for a music project, so copyright-free clips would be ideal.

There is a George Carlin piece about the US is losing the war on drugs to a bunch of stoners. I'm not sure where to find it but it is funny.

Try Pot TV. It's run by the BC Marijuana party.

Also, my multimedia friends get a lot of stuff from archive.org, but I'm sure you know about that already.

For a laugh, watch the 1937 educational film "Reefer Madness" - it's a classic example of old-school scare tactics. "Johnny here took one puff on a marijuana cigarette and then killed his whole family. WITH AN AXE!"

There are some mp3s of Ronald Reagan drug policy speeches floating around, or at least there were when I was looking to blend them with weed-obsessed hip-hop instrumentals. Check p2p networks, or archive.org. If neither of those work, I may have 'em stored somewhere. My email's in my profile.

Yes, Archive.org, lots of great "mental hygiene" films, a quick search for marijuana turns up: The Terrible Truth, (1951), described as "Early (and sensational) film on marijuana use as a route to heroin addiction."
