Professional videochat site

I'm doing a kickstarter art project in which I paint portraits over videochat. I've been testing and demoing primarily with Google Hangouts, which allows mute observers, but I'd really like to be able to have a permanent address at which I can meet subjects and observers. I need to be able to allow multiple users in, but have all but two as observers, or at least the ability to focus on one user. It also would help if you didn't necessarily need to have a google+ account, or a skype or an AIM account, or any particular OS or browser, beyond having a webcam and mic. It should also be free to use, although I might be willing to pay a little to keep the url permanent. The ability to record would be a plus, but I can always use a screencap program to do that. Does anyone know if there's a good client or site that fulfills these needs, that's a little classier than camwhoring? Any experience with tinychat - would it work? Or would you be up for developing something?

Mod note: hey there -- drop the link to the project in your profile and send it to mathowie so he can add it to the MeFi page, but you can't link it here, sorry.

You might want to check out TokBox.

Response by poster: Been testing out Tokbox. Still not as flexible as I'd hope (low resolution, permanent banning, beta-style confusing) but it's a start. Could use more suggestions.
