Mac OS X .dmg files

Mac Os X, Tiger. Somehow, my disk image files ask for a program to open them. The mime type or something like that is all messed up. What program do i associate them with to get them to open up correctly? I tried disk utility, and it doesn't work quite the way it should. Thanks!

You associate them with /System/Library/CoreServices/DiskImageMounter.app.
