Help me identify a radio comedy about drunk children at a holiday party. About three or four years ago, I was listening to the radio during the holiday season (Nov-Dec), and I heard the funniest (fictional) story I've ever heard, and have never been able to locate the source.

The story went like this: Someone spiked one of the punch bowls at a party, and accidentally put the spiked punch on the children's table. Drunk children climb the Christmas tree and occasionally vomit, and general mayhem ensues. The funniest part was, at the end of the party, the parents *thought* they were drunk, and so one of them decided to let his 12-year-old son drive home (because it stands to reason that the kid was not drunk). However, the cops pulled over the car, and found a drunk 12-year-old driving with a sober dad in the passenger seat.

It was most likely on NPR. I've searched the This American Life database to no avail, so perhaps it was Prairie Home Companion or another show. Google is no help. Can anyone shed some light to help find a story that kept my girlfriend and I laughing to tears in the driveway?

It's from CBC. I think it's Stuart McLean.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's Polly Anderson's Christmas Party from Stuart Mclean's radio show, The Vinyl Cafe.

Yep, it's a Vinyl Cafe Dave and Morley story: "Polly Anderson's Christmas Party".

We have a winner! Definitely would not have gone the CBC route. Thanks, all.

Stuart McLean's Dave and Morley stories are often amusing, and you can skip forward on the podcast to them instead of listening to his weird anti-city stuff that he starts with. He also has a bunch of books and cds with the stories, so depending on if you find his storytelling good or grating, you can listen or read. (It looks like this one is on a Christmas Collection.)
