"Great thinkers parodied as band shirts" is a bit cumbersome for a title.

What is a good name for my new "Great thinker" / "Band T-Shirt" mashup website?

So my next t-shirt project is going to be a collection of parody band t-shirts with a famous band's logo replaced with the name of a great scientist / philosopher / artist.

Since it seems the way society views "scientist" or "academic" is pretty much the opposite of "bad ass" and "rock star" I thought it would be funny to merge the two. All I need now is a decent name!

I could just do something simple like 'Geeks Rock', and I've also had 'I love Geek Mythology' suggested. I could settle for one of those, but I can't help but feel there is an even better title out there somewhere. Bonus points if the corresponding domain isn't registered yet.

Any ideas?

Rock, Paper, SCIENCE!

I know, I know, they're not all scientists, and I'm not sure what exactly "paper" is supposed to mean, but it sounds kind of awesome, fits in with your existing brand, and the .net version of the domain is unregistered.

Monsters of Grok?

Response by poster: Wow, I love monsters of grok. Brilliant. I'm just worried that 'grok' might not be well known enough a word these days to risk using in the title.

Röckademicäl. The domain name Rockademical dot com is not registered, and the word "Rockademical" currently has only one hit on Google.

Your audience is people who would be interested in t-shirts conflating classic scientists and intellectuals with (mostly) 70s and 80s rock icons. I think they'll get "grok".

Though Heavy Mental is pretty awesome too.

The IFC Center theater sells some very similar designs under the name Cinemetal.

Response by poster: Awwwww man, that sucks. I knew people had done similar one-off shirts before like this beiber / danzig and metadata / Metallica, but I hadn't seen those IFC shirts before.

Well, I guess I've got to decide if it is even worth proceeding now.

I'm thinking nerd name/metal name crossover:

"Brian Maiden's T-Shirt Emporium" or "Ian Maiden"

re: your last post, it's not the same and anyway I think your idea is more on the mark to do with over laps of cultures.

What if you called it "Cramstein" and had a summary of that thinker's key ideas on the back of each t-shirt?

Response by poster: Ha! I like the Cramstein idea a lot (with basically cliff notes on the back), but for cost reasons I can't really afford to do a print on the front and back without jacking up the prices to near $20 a shirt (instead of $16ish).
