What is the "nerdy reference" to this Asian hip hop freestyle battle?
In this clip, Tantrum says "I know we're family, but bro, stop." Dumbfounded then says "That was a nerdy reference, but I got it though."
What was Tantrum quoting or referring to?
Please, no comments re: homophobic, anti-Korean, anti-Chinese sentiments, how hip hop battles are silly, or how easy it is to cheese as Protoss.

yeah, my guess is also the protoss from starcraft - which is sort of funny because he called the other guy a nerd, then says he's the protoss, which continues to be funny because of the cheesing problem you refer to. it seems to get across the opposite idea of what he was looking for.

Dumfounded is Korean. Koreans are (in)famous for being experts at Starcraft, a real-time strategy video game. One of the three races in the game is "Protoss". To become disgustingly good at this game (or anything) requires essentially all of your time.
Tantrum's latter half of his rhyme is insulting Dumfounded for being a video game nerd ("cuz you spent all your hard-earned cash on a Starcraft expansion set / what? you think you can flow dog? because you fucking with the protoss").

nonono, i think he is referring to protoss, and protoss is referring to starcraft. it's just extra funny to me (and i think the poster) because the protoss are easily cheesed giving them a greater advantage in lower levels of play - so using them as an "i'm so awesome" reference maybe misses the mark.
but back to the original question - the nerd refers to the protoss bit, not the "bro" bit.

At first I thought he was saying protons, which I guess are nerdy, but it doesn't really make sense. I googled all the various permutations with flow and protons and nothing. And then it occurred to me that he was probably saying pro toss, which would make sense, as he's tossing down rhymes like a pro. Turns out that was what it was.
Googling pro toss reveals that there's a Starcraft something or other (sorry, I have no idea what Starcraft is) called Protoss, which seems likely to be the nerdy reference of which Mr. Dumbfounded speaks.
