Great birthday gift for a DC-based 27-year-old?

My sister is about to turn 27 and I'd love to give her a hundred dollars' worth of awesome! in Washington DC. She loves books, museums, coffee, food (but not cooking), and all sorts of quirky/funny/ unexpected things (think Pirate Shop in San Francisco). She lives in Columbia Heights and does not have a car. Ideally, the gift would be something I could order online and have sent to her. Any ideas, fellow MeFites?

You could get her a subscription to a variety of fun/ky foods from amazon.

826DC is located in Columbia Heights. Their store is not pirate-themed, but still cool: The Museum of Unnatural History. You can order stuff online.

1. Phillips Collection
2. Fill up her SmarTrip card ONLY TO BE USED TO EXPLORE THE CITY.
3. Tabletop if she likes that sort of thing
4. Everyone likes Teaism Particularly the salty Oatmeal Cookies
5. Buy her a ticket for the next Hirshorn After Dark. (anyone know if this has jumped the shark yet? $18 tells me it has.

Although the Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company currently has its online store closed, you might still consider shopping at...
Time Travel Mart or http://www.greenwoodspacetravelsupply.com/ or Liberty Street Robot Supply & Repair

Does she have a bikeshare membership?

Screen on the Green is cool and runs till Aug. 15. It's free, but you could get her a picnic basket or something and a fake ticket.

Seconding Teaism (many locations!) and the bikeshare (if she's not already a member - it's awesome). There's also this restaurant in her neighborhood. Gift cards for any of these things.

Wholphin subscription, it's quirky/funny/unexpected in your mailbox, and is produced by Team Pirate Store.

I dunno about quirky but Cowgirl Creamery does have DC shop she could get to so you could get her a gift card for yummy snacks.

Oh, Lord, I am about to turn 27 and I live in Washington, DC, and I just moved out of Columbia Heights. Julie? Heather? Is this you?

Here are some awesome things I would want if I were your sister (which I am probably not. Right?)

- A Squishable (bonus: the folks who invented these are DC kids)
- A gift card to the 9:30 Club
- The promise of delicious dinner for her and two friends at somewhere participating in this summer's Restaurant Week
- A Segway tour (they're not just for tourists; they are rad)
- Agreed on Bikeshare
- See if you can buy her some tickets to FreeFest (check Craigslist for these)
- The Soupscription from Soupergirl

Let us know what you pick!

Response by poster: I went with the 9:30 Club gift card--thanks, harperpitt!

And thanks, all, for all the other great suggestions. We already have plans to go to the Museum of Unnatural History and Teaism together. I missed Screen on the Green and Restaurant Week this year, but have it bookmarked for 2012. And, that Tabletop website is dangerous!
