setlist for non-musicians with instruments

looking for easy/popular/fun/sing-alongy songs a group of non-musicians could play together -- we'll have eggs shakers, tambourines, harmonicas, mouth-harp etc. (i.e. beatles-ob-la-di, / U2 desire / la bamba or even more contemporary gaga-bad romance?) everything's on the table - thanks

Consider The Rolling Stone's "You Can't Always Get What You Want." TWICE now, after one or another holiday dinner, my entire family has gotten caught up in an extended percussion jam to that specific song, so it must have something to it.

Considering your instrumentation, Paul Simon's "Cecilia" is a natural.

Cecelia's a great idea for this! My suggestions:

In The Air Tonight (but of course!)
The Times, They Are A-Changing
Just Can't Get Enough
Why Does It Always Rain on Me?
Friday I'm In Love

If you can get one, you'd really get a lot of mileage out of a few copies of this book.

Sonny and Cher's I Got You Babe comes to mind.

Gah, I hate being the one to say it.

But "Not Fade Away" would be perfect.

I think John & Yoko's "Give Peace a Chance" was originally recorded with those instruments.
