Dog Groomer Recommendations?

I am searching for a dog groomer in Westchester County, NY and would be very grateful for recommendations!

If anyone has any personal recommendations for groomers in the Westchester Cty, NY area I would love to hear them! I searched Angie's List but all of the highly rated groomers are over 45 minutes away (I'd like to go no further than a half hour). Also, any suggestions as to what to look for and what to avoid would be highly appreciated! This is our first pet and we've never been to a groomer - I've worked myself into a tizzy thinking of all the things that could go wrong and how my preshus little darling could be mistreated. I want it to be a fun, happy experience for both of us and one he looks forward to in the future. Am I allowed to stay and watch the entire process or is it more of a drop-off and pick-up when completed deal? Thanks!

I do not have a dog, but my neighbor uses a mobile groomer called "Bark, Bath and Beyond" that comes to their house every few weeks it seems. 914-450-6573. I do not know where they are based. Are you above or below 287?

Hard to tell from the pics, but is preshus there a terrier? She looks like she might be a Westie pup. If so there will be specific kinds of grooming you want. This is on the way to an answer, not just a random question, for what it's worth. I know some terrier people in the area.

Best answer: So. The feedback I have from my terrier connections is "Wags and Whiskers" in Chappaqua. What you want to decide is if you want to have preshus hand stripped or not. Stripping is the process of removing (by hand) the undercoat that Westies and similar terriers have, rather than simply clipping the fur. If you decide to go with stripping, you want to find someone very good and very careful and Wags and Whiskers is apparently it. If you just want to clip, I imagine they do that to, though I don't know where Chappaqua is in relation to you, and you might find someone closer who can do that. Anyway, high recommendation for Wags and Whiskers.

Best answer: If you are in Purchase, Chappaqua and Wags and Whiskers is about 14 minutes from the airport on 120.

Response by poster: Wags and Whiskers it is! Thank you both so very much for your help - I have actually driven by Wags & Whiskers on more than one occasion but did not find much info online when I searched. Am booking an appt shortly :)
