Redirect a domain name to another domain.

Help my two domain names exist peacefully as one.

I bought a domain name I really like. I also bought my actual name as a domain name. I setup the original domain name with a host and got it started. However, I have decided that ultimately I would just like to use it as the title of my blog and have it redirect to my actual name domain.

If that makes no sense please let me know and I will clarify. Basically I bought: www.yayablogname.com and set it up with hosting.

I then bought www.myname.com and would like it to be the actual domain that people see. However the title of the blog will reamin 'yayblogname' because it's kind of catchy and I enjoy it. So ultimately I would like to have both names hosted but always redirected to www.myname.com.

I have Dreamhost if that makes a difference or if anyone would be so kind as to include juicy details. As always, thank you in advance for your kindness!

Feel free to tell me I'm crazy for wasting money on hosting two names as well!

Easy-peasy.

To clarify: redirection means a user goes to yayablogname.com and will be redirected to myname.com, which is what shows up in the address bar of the browser. Mirroring would be if you wanted users to be able to go to yayablogname.com or myname.com and see the same content, but whichever url they put into their address bar would be one they would see.

Be aware that, if you care about search engine rankings you need to do this carefully. For example mirroring or pointing one domain name at the other incorrectly could cause problems.

Response by poster: ahh, I don't want any problems, and I will be redirecting and NOT mirroring I believe. Thanks everyone for the quick responses.
