Songfilter: need help finding an (obscure to me) song
I'm trying to track down a song that I keep thinking about from time to time. I only saw the video once but thought it was a cool sounding song and now I want to confirm that.
I saw the video in the late 90's, early 00's. It appeared to be a heavy metal or even death metal song, but every so often the lead singer would sing a really soft melody. Then the whole group would spool up again and thrash around. Rinse and Repeat.
If I remember correctly, the band was playing on an elevated stage surrounded on all sides by a mosh pit. It might have been in a courtyard of some kind. I also think that the lead singer might have dressed or looked clownlike (but it was definitely not Prodigy).
Let's see if any Mefites can help me with this!

Best answer: Hm, I was going to guess System of a Down too, but Chop Suey ... fits the THRASH THRASH THRASH la la la la la pattern better ...

If not SOAD, maybe something by Faith No More?

Yay! And yeah, lead singer Serj Tankian does kind of verge into this territory!
