Question: Help me find the Pitchfork hack site

I would like to relocate the forum post that described when pitchforkmedia.com was "hacked" last fall. Normally I would attempt to locate it myself but my Google-fu has not been helpful. The forum was a community of people that disliked Pitchfork. The title of the thread in question was something along the lines of "when pitchforkmedia.com/1up becomes pitchforkmedia.com/2up" and it was where someone had merely found a directory containing private emails of the Pitchfork's chief. Can you help me find that thread again?

Are you referring to a post on Metafilter? If so, this question is more appropriate to metatalk. (I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.) If you're referring to a forum on another website, you'll probably have to go to all the forums you've visited around that timeframe and make use of the search feature for each site, since if the posts are only available to members, google will usually be unable to discover them. There's also the possibility that the post has been deleted.

It was some forum I had never visited, and haven't visited since. At the time the thread was viewable to the public because I did not register for the forum.

Incidentally, a link to the forum may have been mentioned on Metafilter, but I can't find it.

I'm pretty sure that the forum is hipinion.com, but I'm having trouble locating the specific thread.

It definitely all went down on Hipinion. Because Hipinon has the wierdest symbiotic relationship with pitchfork this side of the relationship between SomethingAwful & Fark.

But I don't remember the thread.

Thanks! It definitely was Hipinion. Maybe that will help me find the thread.

The incident occurred in November 2004. Was it related to the posting of Pitchfork's rates by Hipinion?

I know it's not exactly what you asked for, but I can't resist posting Subpop's pitchfork parody.

I remember this thread. It looks like it was at this address but it's been removed. The wayback machine won't help either, as they used robots.txt to prevent it from archiving the forums. So, one would have to find someone who mirrored the original discussion. this article mentions the "hack." In the discussion of the article on MeFi, bluno gives the linkup to the now-dead thread.
