Gift for the golfing oilfield mentor?

Gift Filter: Under $40 shipped, small token of appreciation for my mentor. I'd like it to be a small decoration (or the like) that he could put on his desk. Other requirements: somehow related to both golf (his favorite hobby) and the oilfield (his career for 35+ years). I'm not very crafty, so hand making something isn't an option.

I have no idea if this even exists (probably not) but it just popped in to my head: a small model of an old-school wooden oil derrick with a golf ball on top, like it's sitting on a tee.

If he's worked for one firm for a long time, or has a favorite one perhaps with their logo on the ball.

Tulsa gift shops are lousy with this sort of stuff, or you could try here. Worst case scenario, get a plain small derrick, and put it on a small piece of green carpet or astroturf with a little flag.

Hmm, a combined golf/oil gift is going to be tricky.

Here's a nice lead crystal oil derrick paper weight thingy for $24.99. The same site also has an oil well pump jack on lighted calcite piece, though it's a smidge more expensive and not as classy.

Ooh, this is a neat ebay find: a1958 US Royal oil center Golf Balls vintage print ad. It's $12.00 shipped, and you could frame it for a nice gift.

Pick one or the other. The easiest way to make a symbol tacky is to load it down with dozens more symbols.

This is a kind of awesome oil rig pencil sharpener on ebay for $21 (you can keep the Alamo one for yourself if you're so inclined).
