Pig gods, fire goddesses, and Mark Twain

Trying to remember the name of a book about Hawaii, golf course development, Mark Twain, Pele, and some supernatural happenings.
I while back (like 20 or so years ago) I read a paperback about a detective trying to solve some murders on a golf course. It was very tongue-in-cheek. Body parts would end up in the golf cups; Pele was around; Kamapuaa shows up and is kind of like a mobster, smiling with a set of human teeth (instead of pig teeth). Pele is mad about the development going on and stirs up trouble. And there were some flashbacks to Mark Twain's visit to Maui.
Can anyone help me find the name of this book?
