My wife and I are looking for good cheap lodging on Topsail Island NC in July. Any suggestions?

There are several condo complexes on the top part of North Topsail Beach that have seen better days but would meet at least the "cheap" part of your question.

There are some houses south of the stop light (I don't know if you've been there before, but the point of reference is the stop light at the end of the road that the swing bridge is on) that survived the hurricanes in '96 and therefore haven't been torn down & replaced with gigantic homes. They would be cheaper, most likely, than the newer places.

There are 3 or 4 realty companies that control most of the rentals. We rent our house from Ward Realty. They have a search feature where you can search by size and location but not by price.

In past years, it was difficult to get a good property this late in the year for July - the realtors give folks the option of renewing the rental while they're there - but I suspect that has not been as big an issue of late.

You can also stay on the sound side of the island (as opposed to the ocean side) for less.
