Book recommendations about avoiding modern life

Looking for book recommendations about avoiding modern society or financial success for other goals and adventures. Non-fiction and fiction are both great.

A few books I've read that sort of fit description and enjoyed:

Into the Wild
Desert Solitaire
Siddhartha
On the Road

Thanks!
