Pandora, but for faces?
I have learned a lot about my music tastes from using Pandora. Previously, I could not explain to you why I like one song but not another one from the same genre, but it is much clearer now. One useful feature is that for each song, Pandora gives an explanation of its attributes, such as, "Complex rhyme patterns, R&B influences, rock influences, and headnodic beats."
Kind of an offbeat thought, but I'm curious if there is any kind of similar system or research when it comes to facial attractiveness. Show me the pictures of several people, and I will disagree with my friends about who's attractive. I know that there is a pattern, but I can't figure out what it is. It's more of a gestalt - an ineffable look - that I'm drawn to. I wonder if it's related to the shape of the face or the proportions of certain features (e.g. high cheekbones/wide-set eyes/etc.), but I am very bad at describing faces in terms of their features.
Is there a way to determine what one's "type" is?

I was going to post supercres's link. That's exactly what you're looking for.

Match.com used to have this as a benefit to members, but after googling I can't find any evidence of it. I swear I'm not imagining it! I did, however, find a dating site that might interest you (if you're single): Find Your FaceMate.
