Pinboard.in to delicious.com sync

I have been using pinboard.in for awhile now after migrating from delicious.com when it looked like it might go under, and love it, however I want to sync back with delicious.com without duplicating any bookmarks. How? I have enabled sync with delicious.com in pinboard.in but this only allows sync from now on as far as i am aware.

Best answer: This is not an elegant solution:

1) Go to Pinboard's export page.
2) Export as HTML (the legacy Netscape format).
3) Open the HTML file in a text editor and delete everything from before you moved from delicious to Pinboard.
4) Save the truncated HTML file and import it to Delicious.
5) Set up Pinboard to automatically add new bookmarks from your Delicious account.
6) Start using Delicious again to collect bookmarks.

Response by poster: Thank you very much. It works, however as I was doing it I noticed that there is an option (Stage 3) to only add bookmarks not previously saved making the whole process a lot easier.
