Chicago Suburb Restaurant Request

Would someone please provide a restaurant recommendation in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago where I can order a great lobster tail? Tomorrow is my birthday and my wife plans to take me to dinner. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what sort of ambience you might want, but you can get a thoroughly decent seafood meal at Bob Chinn's in Wheeling, including lobster tails of various types. It's a super-casual, pack-em-in kinda place, though, and might not be what you're looking for at a celebratory meal.

Shaw's is one of my favorites -- it's in Schaumburg.

How far northwest? I've heard good things about Port Edward in Algonquin.

There is a very good seafood restaurant at the Northbrook Court Mall called Di Pescara. I've had lobster there and it was very good.

Seconding Port Edward. I've eaten there and it is great. Old-timey sea atmosphere too. Right on the Fox River if you'd like a pleasant walk after dinner.

I grew up in the northeast and I can vouch for the quality of the food at Chinn's. True, the atmosphere is a little raucous but the seafood really is great, if the lobster's really what you're after.
