Looking for twee band with hopping video

Looking for the name of an UK indie pop/twee band. The band had a front man with a beard and glasses. I recall a video on youtube with lots of hopping and dancing feet. This video was largely a static shot of a place on the floor where peoples feet would hop in and dance a bit. The video might have had someone dressed in a lion costume. In some images on their website there is a women in the band performing with white face paint, red lips, high penciled-in eye brows, and glasses.

I encountered they by following a link off of a fashion designer's site who made some clothing for these folks. About the only thing I can remember about the designer is the use of vintage fabric.

There might have been a ukulele.

when I think indie, twee, and UK, I think Belle & Sebastian.

Yeah, it kinda sounds like B&S's "Is it Wicked Not to Care" (I think, but I can't find the video......).

Don't think it's Wicked although there is a stuffed lion.

The word "twee" has and will continue to set off everyone's Belle & Sebastian radar, but I don't think Stuart Murdoch (the lead singer of B&S) has ever had a beard.

Response by poster: It is not Belle & Sebastian.

The word 'twee' sooner makes me think of Sarah Records, actually: The Field Mice, St. Christopher, et al.

But your description of the video makes me think of a New Zealand band: The Verlaines. The frontman wears neither a beard nor glasses, though.

It's I Could Be Happy by Altered Images. I'd link to it but oddly I can't watch it in my country.

Mind you, that was from 1981 so I may be completely confused.

Response by poster: Thanks for the suggestions but we don't have it yet. The band I'm looking for is more recent. The video I saw looked like it was done in the 2000s and the members looked to be in their 20 or early thirties at the time. It had definite amateur, hand-held feel. It looked like they shot it in their living room and the static framing was due the the fact that they all wanted to be dancing and no one wanted to stand around holding the camera.

I suspect that this is a relatively small act.

The chorus was something about dancing or hopping. Like "everyone get up, hop, dance" sung like a children's song.

Maybe The Boy Least Likely To?

Response by poster: BLLT is closer, right time period, right type of twee but I just went through all the YouTube videos and they are not the one.

I was thinking Saturday Looks Good To Me, but none of their videos feature beards.

Lykke Li - Dance, Dance, Dance? It doesn't fit with most of your description though. She doesn't have a beard for starters, and she's Swedish...

Best answer: The band was the Bobby McGee's.

the video with feet

Thanks for everyone's help.
