Your love is like bad literature

Give me all of your favorite hilariously awful lines from hit songs.

I'm looking for examples of clunky, badly written lyrics that wouldn't pass your fourth-grade English teacher's sniff test. The stuff that makes you wrinkle up your nose and say "Really? You REALLY couldn't come up with anything better right there?"

Examples:

From Counting Crows' Round Here: "Round here we stay up very, very, very, very late."

Van Halen, Why Can't This Be Love: "Only time can tell if we'll stand the test of time."

Any era or genre will do. Bonus points if the rest of the song's lyrics are beautifully written; bad through and through isn't quite what I'm after.

Surely there are a multitude of these once we start looking. Share them with me!

Aerosmith, Pink. "Pink: it's like red but not quite".

The rest of the lyrics are pretty lame too, but they're at suggestive at least. This is the last line of the last verse, and it's just hilariously lazy.

Bon Jovi - 'As I dream about movies they won't make of me when I'm dead.'

It seems to me that Bon Jovi songs were littered with bad lyrics, but this is the one that comes to mind.

For years, I've listened to the CD "Lay it Down" by the Cowboy Junkies, and I love the song "Bea's Song", but it always bothered me to sing a double negative "...so i don't say nothing.." It obviously feels like it's supposed to mean that she doesn't say anything to him, but the double negative says she DOES. It always bugs me!!!!

John says I look at the moon and the stars
These days more often than I look into his eyes
And I can't disagree so I don't say nothing
I just stare on past his face at venus rising,
Like a shining speck of hope hanging over the horizon

I think they even have a couple other songs when the grammar is not quite right...

Another Aerosmith: My husband and I were laughing this morning about the line "I feel like the color blue."

Though I'm a big Prince fan, I admit he makes a lot of grammatical blunders:

"I anticipate a few turbulence along the way" (from "International Lover")

"Every time she said the words another one of his doubts were gone" (from "Joy in Repetition")

"Dig if you will the picture / Of you and I engaged in a kiss" (from "When Doves Cry")

Similarly, the Smashing Pumpkins song "Beautiful" is marred by the line: "Wonderful, it's wonderful, to know that you're just like I"
