Question: Desperate Geek seeks E3 passes.

I'm going to be in LA during the period of May 14-22 for some business, and I wanted to go to E3. I have already missed the online registration by a few weeks, and I don't have the option to pay 300+ to see the floor for one day. Any LA MeFites or others who will be in the area able to help?

Simply put, reserve duty two weekends in a row. It's easier to stay in LA the whole time, couch-surfing with a friend. It will also get me a few weekdays where I can earn some extra cash on admin duties.

I figure it's easy to take off for one day to see E3, and I've missed it every year due to a myriad of circumstances. I've always wanted to go, but the 300+ they want for a 3-day pass to the exhibition is a bit steep.

I only want the pass for either Thursday or Friday. can anyone help? I also have a female friend who wants to go, so if anyone has two passes that can be borrowed, that would be even better.

If you require a small (compared to full entry fee) amount of monetary compensation, that can be arranged, but it's worth more per pass to me if it's two, not just one.

Preferred that any takers contact me at address listed on my member page.

How much are you willing to pay for two passes? That might get the ball rolling. :)

Well, that's the thing. It's partially a factor of me having to scrounge up that much money. I can offset the cost to some degree if I absolutely need to, but I was always taught never to make the first offer.

Man have times changed. E3 was free last year. I got a pass (two in fact...) and didn't even go. Good luck.

It is essentially free if you register early enough online. After that, you're stuck. Welcome to lovely corporate america...eventually every company gives way to desire for the almighty dollar, and they'r particularly fond of popular events that used to be free.

Anyway, I thought about what was said above, and I'm willing to open with $100 for two passes for Friday ONLY. I am fully aware that it would take a true altruist to provide passes and still turn down that once it's on the table.

C'mon, it's a decent amount...I'm poor (college student, and in the Army)
