Laser Industry Info

I'd like to find some reasonably current information on the technical and quality challenges in industrial applications of fibre and OPSL lasers.

I'm particularly interested in summary or overview information, but more detailed info may also be of help. Pointers to online resources and any first hand info would be appreciated. (unfortunately, I don't have access to any subscription journals).

Have you tried checking out any local public libraries? The university ones tend to have access to many many electronic subscription journals. Perhaps you could call and speak with a librarian if there's a university near where you are located.

Lightreading includes lots of articles and press releases related to lasers and fiber optics as used in telecommunications.

It might be a good place to start.
